Album Info

Release Date: 1999

Label: Mute

3D foldout Digilok package in a slipcase.

This album was recorded using logic audio. The output from this was then spatialized using Animix 3D visualisation software and the Lake Huron 3D audio processor. Animix was specifically written to help create pieces of music to be played in the soundscapes 3D auditorium area of the National Center for Popular Music in Sheffield. The techniques and technology used in creating this album have never been used before.

Important - This album has been recorded in binaural format. The listener should wear headphones to hear the unique threedimensional surround sound spatiality of the mixes. Some (albeit reduced) effects will be heard if speakers only are used.
Track one, "Music for Multiple Dimensions", was the first piece of music commisioned by and composed for the National Center for Popular Music. It is performed several times daily in the soundscapes auditorium.
