"Improvisation" is a short extract from one of our guerilla recordings in the music department of Leicester Polytechnic; "You took the Blue One" is from the long Street Music session on Easter Sunday 1981; "Esther" and "Red Light for the Greens" are from the earlier session when we recorded Dr.Z - we didn't like that version of "Red Light" and we recorded it again for the next album - and "Minstrel Radio Yoghurt" was from the same session as "Path to You" and "Geraniums" and was released on the "Where the Hell is Leicester?" compilation L.P. "The Rat Dance Variations" is a collage of our home recordings from this period - it was put together for the 1991 Madagascar Records CD of "Teenage Head".
