Album Info

Release Date: 1971-01-01

Label: Trutone

Only the front of the sleeve is laminated.
An original Brother recording.
For this album (recorded in the USA) the group 'The Flames' (originally from South Africa) changed their name and the name of the album to 'The Flame' in order not to be confused with James Brown's 'Famous Flames'. When the album was released in South Africa, however, the name was changed back to 'The Flames' (for the release by Trutone listed here) because the band had become famous as one of South Africa's top bands under that name before moving to Britain and later to the USA. The band had originally become famous through cover recordings and in this album their own recordings did not prove as popular. The album sold badly in South Africa. The band disbanded when two of their members joined the Beach Boys in 1972.
