Rock And Roll (Industrial Strength Remixes) by The Mark Of Cain

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1998-10

Labels: BMG Australia Limited, Ra Records

This CD reissue contains three extra/bonus tracks compared to the original nine track CD of 'Rock And Roll':
- Track 3, 'Fire in Her Heart (Albini remix: Steve Albini)'.
- Track 10, 'Call in Anger (Ready mix: Btek)'.
- Track 11, 'UCD (Albini remix: Steve Albini)'.

All the remixes presented here, with the exception of 'Hindsight' and 'The Hammer', have been mixed with the intention that each of the artists involved place their own personal musical interpretation on their chosen song and mix it accordingly. Most of the songs are from TMOC's third album 'Ill At Ease' (1, 4, 5, 6, 9 & 12), however to present a fuller picture of the band's work TMOC also asked artists to select tracks from the first album 'Battlesick' (2 & 10) and the second album 'The Unclaimed Prize' (3, 7 & 11).

Track 2, 'The Hammer' from 'Battlesick' was remixed at Best FX Studios in Adelaide, South Australia due to the fact that the band always felt that the song was indicative of an early period of TMOC which has been overlooked and deserved another airing.

Tracks 3 & 11 from 'The Unclaimed Prize' had additional recording and mixing done by Steve Albini at Chicago Recording Studio in Chicago, Illinois, USA on June 18th & 19th 1991.

Track 8, 'Hindsight' was originally recorded for the album 'Ill At Ease', but the video edit presented here was re-recorded for the David Caesar film 'Idiot Box' at Megaphon Studios in either December 1995 or January 1996.

The 'Rock And Roll (Industrial Strength Remixes)' CD is housed in a standard jewel case, with a clear plastic tray and a folding 4-page booklet.

Release date: October 26th 1998 (ARIA Report Issue #452).
