Assassin³ by The Orb

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1992-10-12

Labels: Big Life, WAU! Mr. Modo Recordings

Issued in a cardboard sleeve with opening at top edge.
The front cover has a black 1" diameter sticker which reads: "includes free orb mission window sticker - BLRDB 81"
Inside the cardboard sleeve is a two-color (light teal and dark teal) 4.5" diameter static cling window sticker which reads: "The Orb - Don't Leave Earth Without One".

This is part two of the two CD set. Part one of the two CD set (BLRDA 81) was released in a gatefold double Digipak case into which the disc from this release could be inserted.

On the front cover and the disc, the release title is given as "Assassin³" (presumably this is a reference to the sci fi film "Alien³" which was released earlier the same year). The back cover labels it as "assassin cd two".

The front sleeve artwork includes stylized Japanese katakana text that reads ジ・オーブ (Ji Ōbu) - a transliteration of "The Orb".

Track 1 (Radio 7 Edit) - mixed at Matrix 4, London.

Track 2 (Another Live Version) - recorded Friday 26th July 1992 at Glastonbury Festival at sunset.
The vocal sample about "the brightest of any collision lights..." is taken from the film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". Most of the other speech and sound effect samples throughout the track - at least ten in total - are taken from the Mikey Dread LP "African Anthem".

Track 3 (Chocolate Hills Of Bohol Mix) - mixed at Somewhere, Tokyo.
The Chocolate Hills are a large formation of over a thousand grassy hills in the Bohol province of the Philippines. The grasses turn brown during the dry season, hence the name.
