"Thirty years ago, on July 1, 1987, Phillip "Snakefinger" Lithman died of a heart attack while on tour with his band, The Vestal Virgins. He was a long time friend and collaborator of The Residents and had recently finished the massive 13th Anniversary Tour through Japan, North America, Europe, and Australia. The Residents put together this beautiful piece to play at a wake in San Francisco and a studio version was released as a very limited edition CD by their fan club, Uweb. It's now been 30 long years since he left us. Here is both the studio version and the live version (...) for the first time to help you mourn. Phillip Snakefinger Lithman June 17, 1949 - July 1, 1987"
