Out There A Minute by The Sun Ra Arkestra

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1989

Label: Torso

"This compact disc comprises Sun Ra's personal selection of rare Arkestra recordings from the late 1960s." stated on release but it was indeed recorded in 1961 (10, 11), 1962 (2, 3, 9), between late 1962 and early 1964 (12), 1963 (5, 13), 1965 (8), ca. 1968 (6, 7) and 1970 (1, 4).

"Made in and around 42nd Street, New York City, Earth" looks much more correct. A2, A3, A5 and B3 to B6 were recorded at 51st Street Choreographers Workshop and A1 at 42nd Street Variety Recording Studio. Unknown address for Sun Studios, New York where A6 and B1 were recorded and unknown recording location for other tracks but we know that the deal between Blast First principals and Sun Ra took place in a Times Square Burger King, that's also in or around 42nd Street.

Those infos come from Sun Ra expert Prof. Robert Campbell and there are much more on Out There A Minute.
