Recessions by The Union Argus

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 2018

Label: Chromatic Aberration Records

The Union Argus is a multi-faceted creative outlet operated by Collin Nelson out of Broome County, NY. Projects range in form of medium; including video production, printed media, and audible media. These works generally being self-released and subsequently produced in small quantities. Most often, the intention of the work being to confront personal problems head on and honestly in the hope of progress or change.

The Union Argus would like to thank ceecide for his electric ukulele work on Peripheral and for all his help with other projects, T and Popeye for buying their piano many decades ago (Obfuscated wouldn’t exist otherwise), Black Patch for always having open ears, Johnny hero for all the great discussions and for his open ears as well, and Chromatic Aberration Records for giving my sounds an honest shot.

"We lived alone, my house and I.
We had the Earth,
We had the sky.
I had a lamp against the dark,
And I was happy as a lark."

This version was limited to 5 tapes sent to The Union Argus to have things added to them. Here's what they had to say about these 5 tapes on Instagram: @chromaticrecord sent me a few copies of Recessions which I stuffed with some extra ephemera. Each has a slice of a film photo taken years ago, a negative of (again) some old film photos, some piece of paper like a personal note or a document from legal issues I’ve dealt with in the past, and a sticker. All but one of these has been claimed by close friends and family members, but if you’re interested in grabbing the last copy send me a message I guess. Normal copies of this release are still available through @chromaticrecord, the rest of their catalog is awesome so check that out if you’re interested. The fact that I’m able to even hold copies of this tape in the first place still blows my mind. They are really, REALLY, well made and thanks to Arjen they sound just as good. Just eternally grateful for this even happening in the first place. Someone snatched up the last copy. FYI.
