"This" was recorded under the name tiltawhirl, but just as the album was about to be released we received a letter from the lawyers for Sellner Manufacturing Co, the makers of the Tilt-a-Whirl (tm) carnival ride. Turns out they are from Faribault, a small town in southern Minnesota, and their lawyers offices are about 3 blocks from First Ave/7th Street Entry here in Minneapolis. They had actually seen a poster for one of our shows.

Anyway, they threatened to sue us if we didn't change our name. They were very persuasive. Under time pressure we just picked the name of a song off the record: "arcwelder". Which, in the long run, is probably a better name anyway. Unfortunately, there were 1000 albums already pressed that said "tiltawhirl" on the cover. Sellner agreed that we could release them if we put a sticker (that they wrote) on the front stating that we were in no way associated with them etc.

I suppose if you have one of those albums it could be worth $5 or $6 by now.
