The idea behind the concert was to bring together composers from across Chicago’s jazz/improv and contemporary classical scenes to write for a single ensemble. It was an opportunity for audiences to hear new work by a broad range of composers. The concert not only paid composers to write a new piece, but also introduced them to other composers working in Chicago.
