This English edition is the expanded version of the German issue - containing six additional chapters (Thailand, India, South Africa, Sweden, Ozora and Universo Paralello), some revised texts and a whole lot of new photos. In this comprehensive coffee table book, the editors Tom Rom und Pascal Querner have compiled the texts and statements of 45 authors into a comprehensive portrait of a music scene and its associated culture that has existed for over twenty years now. 700 expressive images from more than 40 photographers document the unique and colourful global culture of Psytrance events on all five continents, including the legendary Boom Festival in Portugal and the Ozora festival in Hungary. Not to forget the photos of Goa, the former hippie paradise on India's west coast, on the beaches of which, the roots of this culture started to develop back in the seventies and eighties. Founding fathers of the scene, such as Goa Gil, Chicago or Raja Ram are all represented in this exceptional volume. And not least, the works of visionnary artists such Alex Grey, Robert Venosa and Martina Hoffmann portray the genuine picture language of this culture. The universal artwork finds completion through the DVD - produced by Psynema (El Geko / Buzz T) both part of Psytrance culture from the start - which has been revised to include previously unreleased footage and music from a number of festival.
