NW is a stripped down composition for electric guitar and snare drums, focusing on performing practices that evoke atmospheric phenomena through the use of a reduced electroacoustic set. It is a sonic interpretation of a past living experience of uncontaminated places, happening at a time distance from it, therefore distilling all of their own physical and emotional properties. The album consists of 5 tracks, deep and enchanting in their rich earthy evocations, shaped through balanced modulation of gestural tensions. Their sonic flow generates desolate and arduous settings, disrupted by eroded melodies and ephemeral harmonic structures, slowly expanding in the listening space til they eventually disengage and dissolve. NW condenses ideas and audiovisual suggestions gathered in the space of three years. The sessions have been recorded in december 2018 in a huge warehouse in the Bologna premises. The acoustic properties of the location have been preserved during post production and mixing.
