Album Info

Release Date: 2006-04

Label: We-Ze Records

Two Grand High Priest re-edits of Legacy's "I'm So Glad".
The vinyl label doesn't mention an artist name, but on digital platforms it has been released with "Shawn Christopher" as the performing artist.
Whereas Shawn Christopher has indeed released a house cover version of "I'm So Glad" in 1992, the version that appears on this release is actually a re-edit of the original Legacy performance of the song, and features neither Shawn Christopher's vocals nor other musical elements of her cover version.

As the record label states, the original version has been "played just one night at the Paradise Garage" by Larry Levan. Consequently, We-Ze Records used his name and picture for promotion purposes concerning these 2006 remixes by Grand High Priest. In order to avoid legal problems with this release and to give the impression that Larry Levan was involved in this project, We-Ze falsely gave it the catalogue number "Larry 08" which refers to the Larry bootleg label that has released 7 12" of vintage Larry Levan remixes of the past few years.

This is probably the reason for the mixup over the performing artist credit - as the Paradise Garage closed down in 1987, naturally it would have been reasonable to assume that Larry couldn't have played a song that was recorded 5 years later.
