Record 1, from a 7 record box set of replacement records. To be placed in use on July 1, 1974, - into the "Mechanism" that is known as "The Seeburg 1000 Background Music System". A fully automatic record changer machine that can hold up to 28 9-inch records (maximum) and re-stack them after they have all been played. TEach side of the record has a duration time that is approximately 39 minutes.
The catalog numbers for these 7 boxed replacement records are not in sequence, - for example: This record, (record 1) is catalog number: BA-104. record 2, is catalog number: BA-108 (so every 4th number). Record 3, is catalog number: BA-112, etc., -ending at record number 7, -which is catalog number: BA-128 to complete the box set. When stating "Record 1" or Record 2, etc., - this is not printed on the record labels or on the box instructions.
These box sets of replacement records were issued every three months on the first of the month. There was a special holiday set of records that were placed in use around November 1st of each year. Then after the holidays, another set of replacement records was issued to start December 26 and played until the end of March.
These records were not in any way made public for commercial sale (being the 2" center hole making it difficult at the time for the public to make use of them). A demand was imposed on dealers and distributors for the return of these records (after use) to Seeburg Music Library, Inc. or a fine would be incurred.
