The Bornand family, now of Pelham, N.Y., were original manufacturers of music boxes in Switzerland since the year 1825, so it was only natural that they produce the first recordings of the fabulous instruments in their private collection.
These original music box melodies of Christmas are brought to you from a 15-1/2" disc Regina; a 20-3/4" disc Regina; an 18-1/2" disc Mira; a 14" disc Symphonion with a set of twelve bells; and most rare, a magnificent Symphonion playing a set of three 14" diameter discs simultaneously. The Regina music boxes were made in Rahway, N.J. with discs ranging from 8" up to 27" in diameter. The Mira music box is one of the only two of this type manufactured in Switzerland, and the Symphonion music boxes were a product of Germany.
