Experimental pianist Vadim Mukhin from St Petersburg, researches the opportunities of digital piano. Using a restricted set of artistic means, he emphasizes the aggressive acoustic ecology and its balance with the piano timbre.Developing the ideas of the cluster technique pioneer, Henry Cowell, Vadim has elaborated his own articulation technique - Wave cluster. He uses the responsitivity of digital piano keyboard, which mechanics has a very fast response even to slightest touches. Each arm is divided into five zones and is involved along the whole keyboard surface – from elbows to fingertips. Together it acts like an integrated ensemble and the performance itself brings the sensation of the immersion into the instrument.
Roemeria is the reaction to the news about a whale, that was cast ashore and whose stomach contained forty kilograms of plastic bags.
The final mix contains several piano improvisations recorded in places, where the music was used as a background for a small-talk. Voices of economists, NLP-coaches and dentists play a role of informational plastic that is floating in the ocean of sound.
The music itself ignores the aesthetic accuracy and describes sensations of an ocean. Neglecting the artistry, the author addresses rational documentation, showing the monotony of the evolutional processes and the embedding of plastic - as an element of artificial origin – into the planet ecology.
