"'Civilization' was the working title for a 2008 concept album. The country was on the verge of new leadership, as the world continued to struggle with how to fit civility around human nature. The collection would have been 27 songs in total, including a solo piano set and oratorio. Pieces of the project have surfaced on subsequent records. These 14 demos - 11 of which have never been heard - lie in various states of undress, with only sketched-out vocal and instrumental parts. But, in my opinion, they do hold value as examples of spontaneous processes from which material arises. Soon, we will also make the solo piano EP available.
