Van had the following to say about "Muted Symphony" on 8/25/15: "In 1999 I built this track by compositing three keyboard geniuses: the chords of Sly Stone’s ‘Wishful Thinking’, an orchestral arrangement by Charles Stepney, and Patrick Warren’s haunting flutes from his mellotron. Then I added some lyrics, guitar and wurlitzer, just for fun. I wanted to play it for ya’ll sooner, but…time gets away."

"I ben lOOk-n" samples portions of Richard Pryor's "When Your Woman Leaves You" from his Grammy winning 1975 record "...Is It Something I Said?"

"Digi Wit (inappropriate mix)" is Van's interpretation of St. Vincent's "Digital Witness" from her 2014 self-titled release "St. Vincent".
