Stiff singles box 1 (black box), FIRST ISSUE.
Limited edition box set of the first ten singles on Stiff Records in original sleeves. (BUY 1 - 10). 5000 copies. Some were broken up by Stiff and the records sent out individually by mail order.
Differences between this issue & re-issued box Stiff Records
Issue 2 is numbered, whereas issue 1 was not, apart from Richard Hell single mentioned below.
Issue 2 does not include an info sheet. This Issue does (sheet lists the records with a description of each).
Issue 2 has 'Made in England' on the back of the box and on the record labels. This does not have this information.
Issue 2 has curved cut-outs on the sleeves, whereas this issue 1 has the straight cut-outs.
The Richard Hell record (BUY 7) is numbered 0001 in all second issue sets, but is stamped with an actually number (above 5000) in this issue.
The sleeves in issue 2 are thicker (the records fill up the box), whereas this issue has noticeably thinner sleeves, making the box look 'not quite full'.
The labels in issue 2 are all different to those in this issue. The later ones contain "Made In England".
