For this DIR series, most selections have the audience much less prominent at the intros and outtro(s) making these pressings unique from the original KBFH broadcasts from the various artists featured. There is a locked groove between each song on these transcription discs - 3 different artists performing one song each per side.

This DIR Broadcasting radio transcription series was known previously as Live Cuts, which ran weekly beginning with Show #1 (LC-1) broadcast 7/18/1983 through Show #50 (LC-50) broadcast 6/25/1984. Live Trax was a continuing of the Live Cuts series retaining the LC-## catalogue numbering system with only 4 shows from Show #51 (LC-51) broadcast 7/02/1984 through Show #54 (LC-54) broadcast 7/23/1984. Following the Live Trax name change for only 4 shows, DIR Broadcasting once again changed the name of the series to Live Tracks. With this change however also came a change to their cataloguing system to GLT-##. At the changeover, Live Trax (LC-54) broadcast 7/23/1984 ended and Live Tracks (GLT-1) broadcast 7/30/1984 began. The broadcasts were merely a continuation of the original Live Cuts series. The Live Cuts, LiveTrax, Live Tracks series ran for a total of 74 shows and was never again produced on vinyl.

In 1989 Live Cuts re-emerged for broadcast on the CD format and ran for 84 weeks from Week 1, broadcast May 29 through June 2, 1989 through Week 87, broadcast January 21, 1990 - January 25, 1991. The shows continued the tradition of the original series offering a collection of exclusive rare live selections from the King Biscuit archives in superb sound quality.
