"Esta serie de carácter histórico responde al propósito de divulgar los documentos
relacionados con el pasado nocional cuya importancia permita la evocación de los
períodos esenciales de la formación del país. Han sido seleccionados aquellos documentos
y testimonios de época que por la entidad del episodio al que se refieren
o Ia relevancia del personaje que los suscribe son considerados ya clásicos entre
las fuentes para el conocimiento de nuestra historia. Para la cabal comprensión de
los documentos mas representativos que han sido elegidos con el propósito enunciado,
se acompaño su versión original de Ia narración de los hechos y del comentario
interpretativo que permita ambientarlos en el panorama del periodo al que pertenecen.
A través de los discos que integran Ia Serie Histórica, el profesor, el maestro,
el alumno y el oyente común, percibirán por intermedio de la palabra de los actores
mas calificados, los ecos de la revolución emancipadora de 1811, de las luchas
heroicas de la Patria Vieja, del pensamiento político de Artigas, de sus esfuerzos
para defender el patrimonio nacional y Ios principios de la libertad republicana
que orientaron su ideario. Podrán difundirse, merced a estas grabaciones, por el
relato vivo de los personajes y memorialistas, los pasajes culminantes de la cruzada
de 1825, de las campañas que condujeron a la independencia del país y del
proceso de nuestra organización constitucional hasta el año 1830 fijado como limite
para el primer ciclo de ésta Serie."

"This series of historical character responds to the purpose of disclosing documents
related to the notional past whose importance allows the evocation of
essential periods of the formation of the country. Those documents have been selected
and testimonies of time that by the entity of the episode to which they refer
or the relevance of the character that subscribes them are already considered classic among
the sources for the knowledge of our history. For the full understanding of
the most representative documents that have been chosen for the stated purpose,
his original version of the narration of the facts and the commentary was accompanied
interpretive that allows to set them in the panorama of the period to which they belong.
Through the discs that make up the Historical Series, the teacher, the teacher,
the student and the common listener will perceive through the words of the actors
more qualified, the echoes of the emancipatory revolution of 1811, of the struggles
heroics of the Old Homeland, the political thought of Artigas, his efforts
to defend the national heritage and the principles of republican freedom
who oriented their ideology. They can be disseminated, thanks to these recordings, by the
live story of the characters and memorialists, the culminating passages of the crusade
of 1825, of the campaigns that led to the country's independence and
process of our constitutional organization until the year 1830 set as limit
for the first cycle of this series."
