Side A is playing the 7th track from The Meters 1971’ LP release, ‘Rejuvenation’,
B1, the same track as Brass Construction 1979’ 12” release, ‘Movin' / Changin'’,
B2, the last track from The Beginning Of The End 1974’ LP release, ‘Funky Nassau’.
Compared to the original versions, it’s clearly audible the brass ensemble of ‘Movin’ is detuned.
It’s due to the hole center’s wrong position on this side (like a first missed try by the manufacturers).
On the other side, positions are correct. But, in despite of a mint record, sound’s dynamic is poor,
and frequencies spectrum is not fully used (like the source used before to press was an MP3).
Missing of licensees, legal mentions, sound’s fidelity, and more generally, counterfeits from Loft Classics series, are actually known for years. But, it doesn’t prevent the authors for represssing it again, each ten years, as stated by the three other similar releases existing with this one :
- the first, with some different black sleeve, labels, sticker and matrix (1995)
- the second, not stickered, still with a different matrix (1995)
- the third, also not stickered, with different labels and matrix (2016)
Disc is 140 grams in weight. The release was originally issued in a plain matte white generic cardboard sleeve, with a sticker on front, and a white die-cut innersleeve without corners.
