Liner notes:
1-2 A hardcore song to sort of re-live high school and hanging out at Gilman St. The whole process took approx 20 min. Straight into 4track computer.
1-5 We listened to Siamese Dream and "Tonight Tonight" for direct inspiration for the recording of this song.
1-10 A song inspired by Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers.
1-13 This song is about Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series.
1-18 This was the Navins' hit single freshman year at LC in the Platform circa 1996.
2-2 Using their own samples from previous SRR Zone comps.
2-4 This song is a thank you and dedication to both the Wilson Phillips girls and Al Jorgenson of Ministry.
2-7 Heavily influenced by the straightforwardness of positive hardcore (i.e. 7 Seconds, Minor Threat, Insted), and the comparatively motivational vibe of children's music (Shari Lewis, Sesame Street, Sunday School music). XRubberDuckyX!!!
2-9 This is a new (2007) recording of an old (1995) song.
2-12 First song ever for this comp. Tried to tackle the combination of Rick Astley, maybe Mu, and strangely enough this comp's second song inspired by the Vengaboys.
2-13 This songs represents the transition between [Nat Baldwin's] interest in "experimental" music, and [his] current interest in more traditionally structured "pop" songs. It's also about basketball. Before that [he]'d mostly only dealt with noise related music.
2-14 This song was specfically inspired by Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good". I also have to thank Adam Forkner and the Golden Boots, for helping this song come together in its earliest stages.
2-16 Singing in a new language removes the lyrical context and abstracts my vocal.
2-18 After jokingly singing one of our songs in teh style of Conor Oberst, we realized that all of our songs could easily be turned into songs of this style. This forced us to come to terms with our Bright Eyes influence.
