This flexi-disc was distributed in the December 1969 issue of National Geographic Magazine following the successful launch and recovery of Apollo 11.The voices of the astronauts, the Capsule Communicator(s), the official Voice of Apollo 11 Control, and Richard M. Nixon, 37th President of the United States, were recorded during the mission. Track Bi also has the voice of the unidentified U.S. Navy diver who shouted "There it is!" when he spotted the Apollo 11 capsule as it was about to hit the water. Track Aa is the excerpt from a State of the Union Address by John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States, announcing an initiative to "land...a man on the Moon and return...him safely to the Earth."
