The symphony name, opus number, and movement names on disc 4 are incorrect. The back cover of the disc claim that it is Symphony No. 7 in E Major (D 729; left unfinished by Schubert; multiple later completions by other composers). However, it's actually a mislabelled version of a recording of the Symphony No. 9 in C Major (D 944; the "Great" Symphony). The confusion likely results from disagreement among scholars over the numbering of Schubert's symphonies- German-language scholars prefer to call D 944 "No. 7" and D 729 "No. 9," while English-language scholars prefer the reverse. The recording was originally released in Germany, correctly labelled; when this recording was reissued with English-language liner notes, whoever was responsible for the packaging swapped in the title, opus number, and movement names of D 729, apparently assuming that this was a recording of what English-speakers generally know as No. 7.
