This 2 DVD set includes one on the story of Reggae on the River, which is a musical journey that began more than 20 years ago as a fundraising concert to rebuild the Mateel Community Center after it was burned by an arsonist in 1984. The unfolding story is a celebration of love, unity and community. It shows how powerful grassroots economic development can be when forward thinking people come together to form a collective consciousness. Each year, thousands of people from all corners of the globe make the pilgrimage to the Eel River to connect spiritually with old friends and make new ones. It is a 'tribal' gathering, a place where human interests and the natural spirit take precedence; a place where hip-hoppers, dreadlockers, and Woodstockers join in dance and share good vibrations while uniting through the universal language of music. 'Reggae on the River' is more than a cultural idea. It IS a destination.

Disc 2 entitled "The Music" contains 18 songs from world-class performers who have sung at 'Reggae on the River' "since the festival began its conscious musical legacy. They are icons, keepers of traditional knowledge, poets, ambassadors, and national treasures. Their music has - and continues to- influence an eclectic mix of some of the biggest names in mainstream music. 'The Music' is an unparalleled showcase featuring non-stop, over-the-top performances.
