Track 1 and 2 are played during the "Sekaten", the week long Islamic festivity, celebrating the birth and death of the Prophet Mohammed.
Track 1 is played on Gamelan Sekati Guntur Madu of Kraton Surakarta, track 2 is played on Gamelan Sekati Guntur Sari of Kraton Surakarta, track 3 is played on Gamelan Munggan of Istana Mangkunagaran and is the most ancient music known in Java, track 4 is played on Gamelan Kodok Ngorek of Istana Mangkunagaran, track 5 played on Gamelan Carabalen of Istana (Palace) Mangkunagaran.
Track 1 and 2 were recorded on June 1, 2001, in the precinct of the Great Mosque of Surakarta, track 3 to 5 were recorded on June 1, 1996, in the Pendopo of the Mangkunagaran Palace, Surakarta.
