* Extract from the liner notes:

"At first I thought I was fighting to save rubber trees,
then I thought I was fighting to save the Amazon Forest.
Now I realise I am fighting for humanity."

Chico Mendez, Brazilian rubtier toppers' leader, assassinated in 1988

One day our grandchildren may be seeing the Earth travelling through space.
Is it going to be a hazy desert planet, or a world restored to health by some of the efforts we are making today?
Will it be a stifling global greenhouse, or a planet with cool forests where the birds still sing and rivers in which the fish still jump?
Will there be farms and cities where people can live contentedly? It is up to us all.
The Earth, our home planet, is rising in our minds.

We can still make a difference. We have the future in our hands.

This Album was originally released for the occasion of the United Nations Conference
on Environment and Development (UNCED) which took place in June 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
