Produced to coincide with Audio Arts at the Tate Gallery, August & September 1982.Released in a sturdy cardboard box that fits the 12 page, two-colour offset printed A4 booklet and three tapes in red snap cases. The front of the box features a red on white offset printed A5 sized Info sheet.
Original edition featured light grey / off-white cassettes with red on-body print on each tape.

Live to Air is divided into four sections, spread over three cassettes:
A. Rock Idioms: Works that use rock idioms and their associated structures
B. Images & Narrative: Works that construct narrative through the juxtaposition and collaging of sounds and images
C. Technological & Audial Space: Works that are concerned with and refer to the audial space created by recording technology
D. Urban Reference: Works focusing on the relationship between the individual and the urban environment
Sides are continuously numbered 1 thru 6.
