Packaged in 7" reel to reel tape box with 3 A4-sized inserts. Some copies contain 2 current releases/mail order sheets from M Squared.

This cassette contains material from Dead Travel Fast, The Systematics, Scattered Order & Splendid Mess. Most of it was recorded at Brownies, Paddington Green Hotel in Sydney during 1981, hence the name. All of it was recorded live onto a cassette player and then mastered (& in some instances treated) in the studio.

Were You Invited ? was recorded at Paddington Green on Thursday 6th August. Vanessa Teratology comes from our third performance at the Capitol Theatre (Monday August17) and ...And People Are Blowing Their Minds was recorded the Thursday night before that. Mmmm comes from the time that we played at Wollongong Uni in May, and Let It Be from our performance at the Criterion Hotel in Newcastle one Sunday night. Boiled Dinner was recorded on February 17 at Brownies, and Flowers On The Wall 5½ months later. You Told Me That You Love Me comes from M Squared's "suburban debut" at the Mosman Hotel on Friday November 20.

These three all spring from a week night at the Bayview Tavern somewhere in June.
Copper Hatz is half empty/partly full, a finishing touch at the Trade Union on Friday 30th Oct. Dumb Waiters...was recorded at the Parish Hall night and was not interrupted.

[Splendid Mess] was recorded at the Paddington Green on 27/8/81 when we played with Hunters& Collectors (from Melbourne).
