Track by track liner notes:

1. This version of the song made its way (as a "cover") into the labXIV set during the 2012 TPM/labXIV European tour. Otherwise, unreleased.

2. The "at least" mix by local producers known as The Brothers Brothers. Once everyone had heard this mix, the live version started sounding like the remix ...
This track appeared on the Process EP.

3. Soundtrack for Nui Cobalt's dance performance at the Malediction Society Aristocracy Ball.
There was a story behind this piece, something to do with Pierre Ordinaire (the historical alchemist) in turn of the century America, an Absinthe-soaked episode in New Orleans, an encounter with a disreputable purveyor of Gatling guns, ...

4. This track went through a number of live and studio versions. This one was known as the 11.11.11. mix.
There's a video at coredark.tv that features a number of downtown Los Angeles locations (some that also appear, not coincidentally, in Blade Runner).
This mix has not been released.

5.The "Process" mix - again, more-or-less the same as the live version.
This track appeared on the Process EP.

6. Remixed by Tom Shear of Assemblage 23.
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

7. This mix includes the voice (and words) of Nui Cobalt in the bridge.
Previously unreleased demo version.

8. This was recorded in the rehearsal space near Hollywood and Vine, a session that involved a considerable amount of bourbon.
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

9. The "Process" mix - more-or-less the same as the live version.
Incidentally, "Toy Rabyt" is an anagram of "Roy Batty."
This track appeared on the Process EP.

10. A special mix for a live performance at an event called Porcelain.
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

11. This mix is from the NEXUS record, which was actually recorded on the east coast, but this song ("rhfd") came up in early Moodorgan sets at Bar Sinister, so it deserves inclusion.

12. Darkness Evolution 1: This was the soundtrack for a live dance performance by Nui Cobalt at the Malediction Society Steampunk Ball.
Instrumental.

13. Darkness Evolution 2: from the Process EP - this is more or less how the live version went … with the reprise derived from The Clockwork Doll.
Celeste Lear makes an appearance in this mix - and was in the live band, at the time, adding lovely vocals and eBow guitar.
This track appeared on the Process EP.

14. Darkness Evolution 3: this mix was known to pack the dance floor at Bar Sinister …
"Predator" refers to the potent Rob Papen synth used throughout .. and "gate" … well, just listen ...
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

15. Darkness Evolution 4: this mix was completed shortly after President Obama was elected.
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

16. This mix, executed by Pierre O. in his Silver Lake laboratory, features Rikk Agnew of Christian Death.
Todd Sheehan does the lead vocal.

17. The "Process Mix" of this track; similar to the live version.
This track appeared on the Process EP.

18. The "Catalog Mix" with extra drum parts and production by TPM's Milton Scott.
This track appeared on the Process EP.

19. This is roughly what the live version of this track sounded like: a wall of sound on the Bar Sinister stage, with our friends Ysanne (David J of Bauhaus, Smashing Pumpkins) on electric violin, and Garrison (Dawn of Ashes) on guitar ...
(if you listen carefully, you might realize that this song furthers the Pierre Ordinaire alternate history narrative that began with The Aristocracy Ball, … and continues with Oblivion …)
This track appeared on the PRV2 CD.

20. This is another track (actually an edit of several tracks) from the NEXUS record - so technically not a "Hollywood" recording - but Different was still part of early Moodorgan sets at Bar Sinister, so it deserves inclusion.
And so it ends as it began ...
