Track 1 dates from 1957 and is taken from the album "The Pioneer Of Jamaican Music" (RRTCD02), licensed from Reggae Retro Records (UK) Ltd.
Tracks 2, 3 and 5 are taken from the album "Skatalites & Friends At Randy's" (VPCD1497), licensed from Clive Chin, Aboveroc Records, USA. Track 2 dates from 1962.
Track 4 dates from 1964 and is taken from the album "King Of Ska" (KED01/02), licensed from Ravensquire Ltd.
Track 6 dates from 1967 and is taken from the album "Treasure Isle Mood" (HB195), licensed from Heartbeat.
Track 7 dates from 1967 and is taken from the album "Don't stay out late" (VPCD2046), licensed from Clive Chin, Aboveroc Records, USA.
Track 8 and 9 are taken from the album "Payton Place - Ages of Reggae Vol 1" (CTCR14066), licensed from Bunny Lee. The rhythm track had originally served as backing for vocalist Slim Smith's Jamaican hit cover version of the Temptations song 'Everybody needs love'.
Track 10 is taken from the album "Forward The Bass (Dub From Randy's 1972-1975)" (BAFCD022), licensed from Blood and Fire Ltd. This instrumental rides the "Java" rhythm that gave Augustus Pablo his first hit.

Track 12 dates from 1974/75 and is taken from the album "I Shall Not Remove 1975-80" (BAFCD030), licensed from Blood and Fire Ltd.
Track 13 dates from 1976 and is taken from the album "Joseph's Coat Of Many Colours" (CBM010), licensed from Blue Moon/TKO Magnum Music. On this track, Dennis Brown rides the "Real Rock" rhythm.
