I can remember as an 18 year old, this great club I would to go religiously every Sunday night called "Da Gamas" in Carlton. The crowd would line up and extended to almost 500 metres by the opening time of 6pm. Yes that's right! 6 p.m. not midnight or 2 a.m. as we are used to these days! What a sight it was with the great fountain in the middle of the room and who could forget Antonio Rodrigues on the Congas! It was a great part of the golden era of clubs. Babes @ The Chevron, Madisons, Shieks, The Bombay Club, Casablanca, Lazards, The Love Machine, The Boulevard, Il Fortino's (which later became Bunnies), Peanuts, Juliana's @ The Hilton, Club 243, Jets, The Underground, Inflation, Tattlers, Billboard, The Hippodrome, Regines, The Metro, Midnight Shift, Caprichios, Patches (DCM), APIA, Chasers and last but not least, the grand daddy of them all Silvers! We dedicate this CD to the great DJ's from the golden era: John "The General" Patten, Michael Jay, Cameron Stirling, Michael Cole, Doug Ansell, Les Toth, Michael Tee, Nick Mash, Joe Spiritosanto, Michael Le Freaks, David O'Leary, Silky, Ray Shirley, Graeme Flinders, John Knight, Allan Knights, Mario Gonzales, Stan Michael, George Otis, John Portelli, Michael Cole, Mark Alsop, Paul Goodyear, Gordon Alexander, Steve Allkins, Paul Holden, David Hiscock, Steven Cribb, Peter Hardy & Michael Addis.

Special thanks to all those radio stations out there who continue to keep the Mirror Ball Classics alive, especially Anton and the team at City FM-Melbourne's Rhythm of the City. We also thank those of you who took the time to call / e-mail & write to us with your suggestions.
An extra special thankyou to the local and international record labels. Your patience, detective work & valued assistance enabled us to complete our labour of love.
