The cynic might say a bunch of drugged up no-hopers making desperate, last ditch attempts to salvage something out of their lives.
An optimist might add that the music and poetry here is equal to anything anywhere else, perhaps greater for its honesty + reality + refusal to conform or lick the music biz ass.
