In 1999, for la bâtie festival of Geneva, I invited Franz Treichler (the young gods) to prepare a sound bank consisting of fifty different sounds. This sound bank was created as a basis for the work of a dozen artists, these sound fragments ranging from the crunch of gravel to the sketch of a hip-hop rhythm, were ready for reshaping, distortion, transformation ...
After numerous experiments and during two presentations (geneva & brussels), it became clear that, starting from the same material, one could arrive at interpretations as diverse as the individuals presenting them.
This album is a collage ... a mosaic that reaffirms the incredible creative potential that lies in the use of machines.
