Album Info

Release Date: 1969

Label: Era Records

The version of "Surfin' Safari" here (B4) is from the Hite Morgan tapes, recorded for Candix Records, not the 1962 hit version on Capitol Records.

Songwriting credit for the song "Mule Skinner Blues" (B2) is incorrectly listed as Dorsey Burnette on the record label. This 1960 version by The Fendermen is actually a cover of the classic Jimmie Rodgers song. This rocked-up version uses abbreviated lyrics taken from Jimmie Rodgers and George Vaughn, from a version recorded by Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Boys, which was titled "New Mule Skinner Blues."

"Electronically separated to simulate stereo."

Happy Tiger Records, Los Angeles, California.
