Altern-8's Mark Archer on new compilation album that celebrates 30 years of the Roland TB-303

London 2012. Altern-8's Mark Archer has joined forces with independent digital music label Oh That's Good Music! to release “Acid Reign”, an album celebrating 30 years since the launch of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer.

Originally conceived as a replacement for the bassist in a band, the TB-303 was not initially a commercial success. It took innovators such as Spanky, DJ Pierre and Herb J (Phuture) to experiment with the instrument to create the now familiar squelchy sounds that formed the cornerstone of the nascent acid house movement.

Over a year in the making, this compilation brings together producers, both new and established, who were influenced by the last 30 years of dance music. The album reflects many of the wide range of genres that have used the 303 from Acid House, to Electro to Big Beat.

Contributors to the compilation include Mark Archer (Altern-8 / Slo Moshun / Bizarre Inc), The Niallist (as House Machine), Oscar TG (Red Robot Records), Celebrity Murder Party, Nautic Jets, Dunproofin' and many more.
