Compiling a comprehensive sampler of the kranky label is a difficult task. Each kranky album is meant to be absorbed as a whole. So often a portion of that album taken out of the surrounding context doesn't really show the whole picture.

The main objective was to cram a CD as full of as many kranky artists as possible and to make it available at a very low price. If you are drawn to any artist on this CD the chances are very good that you will be even more enraptured upon hearing that artist across an entire album. Care has been taken to represent each artist's general direction within the limited time available.

Low priced ("14 tracks, 76 minutes, for less than a CD-single") Kranky label sampler evidently by Southern Records for European market; Southern Records logo does not appear on release.
