Notes on inner sleeve:
"The Megasoft Office series all started in 1997. It was fresh, it was spontaneous: this (irregular) appointment with the label's artists' deepest cuts has established itself and built up a reputation. The series is now a milestone in terms of quality, far from clichés and fashions, far from 'all-the-rage' and 'in-your-face' stuff.

This year's edition will be entirely fully dedicated to rare, ephemeral material.

Daily, between 3 and 10 demos land at the F Com Lab. Within this never-ending flow, somewhere, sometimes, some tracks make us stop, take our breath away. Some of these crushes can lead to full-length love affairs, artist albums and long-lived ties with the label. But being an adventurous label also obliges us to show a certain amount of caution - forgive us the oxymoron. We cannot fully commit ourselves to all projects dues to a lack of time and money, in spite of the excitement. Hence (a little) frustration. Hence Megasoft Office.

The idea has come a long way, with this year's edition being an ephemeral springboard for talents. Tracks and artists to whom we'll breathe life for 12 months. The whole opus - visuals, sounds - will vanish, disappear after precisely 12 months; the album will go out of print and will never be available anymore, erased from the F Com catalogue.

Ephemeral. Rare.
This epitomises the contradiction at the heart of the artist's dilemma.

"I am a listener, I am a consumer. I want to listen to my favourite tunes whenever I want, wherever I want and the way I want. But I am flooded with such a choice of music, coming from all corners of the Earth. I have no guiding light, no-one to direct me. I think that I can make it but I do not know how any longer. I have 60 Go of tunes in my MP3 player but I will never listen to them all. I have got 100 TV channels at my disposal but only 24 hours a day to watch them. I think I can make it but I do not know when any longer."

Megasoft Office 2005 consists of 11 confidential tracks with a limited 12-month lifespan. And 11 e-mail addresses will give you the opportunity to express your opinions and feelings to the artists themselves.

We at F Com are so happy. We've created a beautiful album of 11 tracks that we love. Above all, we hope that we've done something useful for you, listeners. And for at least 11 people.

Enjoy"
