"This Compilation contains music made by people in the north of England, the cities of Sheffield and Manchester to be exact. It is a little taster of what has been fermenting in sweaty little studios built in attics, bedrooms and garden sheds on both sides of the Pennines these past few years. Using a little imagination, a lot of alcohol and some broken down synthesizers salvaged from the dustbins of The Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and New Order, this new generation of northern electronic bands are cooking up vital pop music served with a slice of dirt, a pinch of grit, a sprinkle of humour and a large dollop of northern soul".
