July 12th and 13th, two steamy hot italian summer nights, the Cascine amphitheatre in Florence was the sight of the first ever Contempo Festival. All of the bands, from as far away as Australia, America, Germany and England, converged upon their motherlabel's soil in this beautiful old city, bringing with them their own uniting sounds.
The first night was called "Deadmoonnight" and featured Soulhunters, Distant Locust, Black Rose and had Christian Death topping the bill. Night two, known as "Cybernight" saw Volume Sick, Lassigue Bendthaus and Pawkow opening for Clock DVA.
"Contemporary '91" (the record) is the end of the result of a lot of planning and hard work that went into this unique festival. Although you do not get the heat, the crowds or the very late nights, you do get the best part, the music !
We will see you here next time.
