“...Lautari are the traditional entertainers of the Rumanian cities and the villages alike. You can find them entertaining in an urban cafe.... The therm Lauta means the lute and the Lautari are mainly instrumentalists. In general, they perform as a group...... There is no fixed rule about the size of a Lautari orchestra. It can be manned by any number of musicians selected from different spheres of the society.“
