Mastering information:
Track 1-1 is a digital clone (2.5 dB quieter) of the corresponding track on Various - Sounds Of The Eighties 1987 (Time-Life R988-09, 1995), which in turn uses the same analog transfer (basically, it tracks extremely closely without being a digital clone) as the corresponding track on Various - Rock Of The 80's Volume 3 (Priority P2 53704, 1992), which in turn uses the same analog transfer as the corresponding track on Cutting Crew - Broadcast (Virgin 90573, 1987). Broadcast has a great dynamic range. The Priority disc is mastered too loud and clips a bit, plus shortens the tail of the fade. The Time-Life discs retain the clipping and shortened fade.
Track 1-2 is a digital clone of the corresponding track on Various - Billboard Top Hits - 1986 (Rhino R2 71641, 1994). It's 3 dB quieter until 1:09, 3.238 dB quieter from 1:09 to 1:17, and 3.477 dB quieter after 1:17.
