This release was a promotional album by Telefunken in aid of their new CX-line turntables. The vinyl itself is housed in a gatefold sleeve filled with technical and promotional information whose gist was as follows (translated from German):

The quiet revolution in audio.

Everyone knows the sound of record surface noise.

Unfortunately, there's never been a way to silence those annoying sounds without investing a small fortune in special audio equipment or premium audiophile discs.

Untill now... Because now there's CX (short for Compatible Expansion). An important new development in audio that not only silences record surface noise, but also dramatically (by 20dB) extends dynamic range (the difference in sound level between the loudest and softest passages of the music).

A CX record is completely compatible with your current stereo system ans costs the same as an conventional record. You can play it and enjoy it now. Later, if you add a small and inexpensive CX decoder to your system, You'll experience a startling difference in the dynamic range of your music.
That's because when played with a CX decoder, a CX record will deliver clear, bright, noise-free sound - comparable to what you'd hear in an actual hall environment.
