The original "Convicted To The Avant Garde" compilation, compiled and released by Roger Ganley and Stella Cultrona Salamone (RIP) and their Underground Express Records, on March 14 1989. Underground Express was an independent label put together with the purpose of supporting, promoting, and releasing the many independent underground heavy metal bands in the Ohio area. The artwork and title was later appropriated without the consent or knowledge of its sole-surviving creator and copyright holder Roger J. Ganley for a series of bootleg CDs that had nothing to do with Underground Express' purpose, promoting and supporting Cleveland Metal, and actually actively opposes this purpose by stealing art and music from independent artists and making money off their work without their knowledge or consent. The band that Roger managed in the 80's Severe Warning, was also bootlegged on this series without Roger or any of the band members consent or knowledge.
