Mixed by Phil Mison from the legendary Cafe Del Mar.

Sleeve notes:
"You might imagine, with Phil Mison on compilation duties, that you should be lying on the terrace at the Cafe del Mar watching the sun set listening to him mix up a cocktail of chill out tunes. But you'd be wrong, because young Phillip is not just on of the best chill out DJs in the world, as this diverse selection of tracks shows. Mr Mison's record box is in fact a lot bigger than you might think.

Having served his apprenticeship with Darren Emerson and Nick Holloway at London's Milk bar in the early 90's, Phil was rightly poached by Cafe del Mar legend Jose Padilla to soothe the sunburnt raves on the Cafe's terrace as the sun went down and has contributed to do so throughout the last five years.

The lack of Phil's personal pretension shines through on this mix. I mean, this is the man who can be spotted driving a milk float around Chelmsford during the day and DJing at the hotspots by night. So who better to compile a chilled out selection of deep house and downtempo tunes than Phil Mison, a man of exceptional musical taste and not a bad mixer to boot (it only took him 58 takes to get this mix right). Without further ado we're in the mix.

Tricked into a daze by the downtempo magic of Thievery Corporation's "Scene at the Open Air Market" Phil then launches into a deep, spiritual house vibe effortlessly blending Weekenders "Sunday Session", the sublime Nina Simone sampling "See Line Woman" by the Songstress, Eric Kupper's bumping "Planet K" and T.P.O.'s "Hiroshi's Dub". House, yes. Banging, no.

Box Saga's Black Fly Dub has to have one of the funkiest basslines ever and fades perfectly into Kevin Yost's "Hip on You". The international mix continues with the exotic "cascades of Colour" by The Ananda Project from the U.S., and the elusive exclusive "White Beath" by Calm from Japan. A Word of advice, the last three tracks are ideal for lying down to. Phil's dug deep to pull out and obscure Grid dub of "Frontera Del Ensueno" by Rey de Copas, a real Balearic beauty which melts seductively into sunny Hull's Bullitnuts and their "Heavy Air" leaving Soul Circuit to finish off with the sleep "Ordinary Mind".

Stick it on, lie down, dance around or make love, but above all just listen and wonder at the colours of these sounds; they're rather special."
