On this album you will hear powerful and tender women's vocals accompanied by traditional and contemporary instruments. The songs describe Latvian winter solstice traditions from joyful noisy mummery to contemplations inviting God to sit among the people during the festive meal. “Vecpilsētas Dziedātāji” – the “Oldtown Singers” are a group of students from Riga, who express their musical and global feel using formulas from traditional Latvian folk songs.
