Viva a República Viva! is the title of the album with which Vitorino Salomé intends to commemorate the implantation of the Republic, the consecration of "A Portuguesa" as a national symbol, as of June 19th, 1911, and the Portuguese Constitution of 1911.

Particularly grateful to the anarcho-syndicalist ideals that were at the base of the movement that, on the afternoon of October 4th, 1910, in Setúbal and in almost the entire Southern riverbank, initiated the implantation of the Republic, Vitorino gathers in this CD six themes, most of them composed on purpose for this effect.

In this creation Vitorino tries to understand the recent past that, through his grandparents and uncles, begins with the 20th century, to which he adds his experience and acquired information. From this understanding the singer makes what could be a soundtrack of his life and recreates the ambience - in fiction - of what could have been the popular music that was in the air in the beginning of the 20th century - a task made easier by the great amount of material available in archives, books, records, and information provided by friends.

Viva a República Viva! é o título do álbum com o qual Vitorino Salomé pretende comemorar a implantação da República, a consagração de “A Portuguesa” como símbolo nacional, a partir de 19 de Junho de 1911, e a Constituição Portuguesa de 1911.

Particularmente grato aos ideais anarco-sindicalistas que estiveram na base do movimento que na tarde de 4 de Outubro de 1910, em Setúbal e em quase toda a Margem Sul, deu início à implantação da República, Vitorino reúne neste CD seis temas, na sua maioria compostos propositadamente para este efeito.

Nesta criação Vitorino procura entender o passado recente que, através dos seus avós e tios, começa com o século XX, ao qual soma a sua vivência e informação adquiridas. Desse entendimento o cantor faz aquilo que pode ser uma banda sonora da sua vida e recria as ambiências – em ficção – do que pode ter sido a música popular que andava no ar, no princípio do século XX – tarefa facilitada pela grande quantidade de material disponível em arquivos, livros, discos e informação fornecida por amigos.
