Get Thin To Music No. 2 by Wallace M. Rogerson

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1922

Label: Wallace Institute

Although Rogerson's first records were pressed by Columbia, in December 1921 he and his partners established their own pressing plant in Newark, New Jersey -- the Clark Phonograph Record Company.

Records with fancy two-color labels appear to be the earliest produced at his own plant. The scarcity of records with these labels and adoption of a simpler one-color design suggest they were soon abandoned to reduce production cost.

Considering that this plant was referred to in the 1922 Press Club of Chicago Official Reference Book as having "grown into quite a pretentious institution and the records have found their way into almost every other home in the nation" it is reasonable to date records with these fancy labels to 1922.
