From 1927 to the mid sixties, Wayne King And His Orchestra could be heard continuously in ballrooms across the US and on records and radio. Influenced by artists of the big band era such as Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. Wayne King was America's answer to the Strauss family and as the title suggests, he was the 'king' of waltz. Featuring the hits "The Waltz You Saved For Me" and "Goofus" which was a hit in 1931 and 1932. Favourites such as "Josephine" and the waltz hit "Melody Of Love" are also included.
